A lack of updates...

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I haven't had much time to get a lot done on the game, I have however, while not pysically working on the game I have been bouncing around a lot of ideas in my head. So now I'm going to reveal to you a brand new piece of info about the game.

nFortress: Forever will be an episodic game, each episode will consist of one area of the overall storyline. Each area will be unique in the way that it will not only look different but also play out slightly different. I have chosen to do the game episodical for two reasons...

1. The game will contain FMV cutscenes, unique art-styles and music which may begin to bump the filesize considerably if all of the chapters were rolled into one.

2. I'm the kind of person who begins to get discouraged if there is nobody to see or try out my work for a long time, so it is partly due to my own impatience.

As for the progress on the game itself, I'm still trying to decide on the best way to approach the partner mechanic. I don't want it to be overly complex and I want it to work.

A rather rusty screenshot

Ok, you deserved it, here's a sneak peak at a lonely Bucko. Currently I am working on Meevil to stand alongside him though, so it's not all bad news. :)

First wave of character previews

Here we have the first set of character previews:

Welcome to the nFortress: Forever Dev Blog

Ok, so you guys wanna know how I'm getting along with the nFortress game, eh? Well here you go, I've set up this blog so that you can check back to get regular updates on the progress I'm making.

So first up, you may be wondering why I picked the name "nFortress: Forever". This is just the codename for the project while it's in development, but I picked it due to the fact that I honestly have no idea when this will be finished, but I'm hoping this blog will allow me to maintain a steady progress.

First off, a little bit of basic info about the game, nFortress: Forever will be a 2D puzzle platformer with an old-school RPG overworld and will be filled with gaming parodies. In the game you will control Meevil and Me as the admins of nFortress on a quest to raise it from the depths of the internet after a catastrophic event that sent it spiraling down. Aditional members of nFort will be picked up along the way, each with their own abilities that will need to be used to solve puzzles.

Be sure to check back later for some more juicy info, the first wave of unseen artwork will be coming very soon, so stay tuned.
